Rape due to uncontrolled lust, not the dressing
I AM writing in response to the letter from Hassan Abdullah ”Don’t pin blame on others for evil deeds” (The Star, June 4).
I agree with his opinion that rape cases do not occur merely because of the way women dress, but it is due to uncontrolled lust.
It’s really disheartening to read some of the comments made by some shallow-minded men on women. These people put the entire blame on women for contributing to rape by revealing too much of their flesh.
Women in some foreign countries dare to dress scantily yet rape cases are far less compare with our country. Men in our country aren’t all sex maniacs, but one with great moral values and who has respect for women would be able to control his lust no matter how scantily a woman dressed.
